Transition & Enrolment
At LRCS, we aim to make the transition to our school as smooth as possible and have a range of opportunities each year to assist with this.
TRANSITION
If your family is considering whether LRCS is the right option for you and your child, we highly recommend that you attend transition events and book a Principal's Tour to assist with your decision-making. This will allow you the opportunity to see our facilities first hand and ask any questions you may have.
You can book a Principal's Tour by contacting the Front Office.

PRIMARY
We organise a range of events to promote a smooth transition from Kindy to Primary Education.
These include:
Foundation Transition Information Session
The aim is to help parents understand LRCS schooling system and what they need to do to help their child be ready for school. This session is suitable for parents who has a child ready to enter school.
Foundation Transition Visits
We host three sessions, over three weeks. The transition days are staggered and build in length as the weeks go on. These sessions are suitable for children who plan on attending LRCS school in the following year.
Week 1 - Children attend school from the start of the day (8.45 am) till the end of Recess (10.45 am). During this first session we aim to familiarise children with the school, show them important locations within the school, and introduce them to basic school routines. Children who attend LRCS Kindy will be taken back to Kindy by school staff after recess.
Week 2 - Children attend school from the start of the day (8.45 am) till the end of Lunch (1.45 am). During this time children get to experience a half day in the life of a Foundation child. Children who attend LRCS Kindy will be taken back to Kindy by school staff after lunch.
Week 3 - Children attend school for a full day. During this time children get to experience a full day in the life of a Foundation child.
Secondary
Since 2022, South Australians are eligible to transition to Secondary School in Year 7.
We organise a range of events to promote a smooth transition from Primary Education to Secondary Education.
These include:
Secondary Transition Information Evening
This aims to highlight the key differences between Primary and Secondary school at LRCS as well as highlight the learning opportunities we are able to offer in Year 7-12. This is suitable for students and families who are new to Secondary Education and are considering whether LRCS is the right fit for them.Secondary Open Night
This aims to showcase the different subject areas we offer in 7-12 as well as the spaces utilised to deliver key learning. This is suitable for students and families entering Secondary Education for the first time and are considering whether LRCS is the right fit for them.Secondary Transition Days - 'A Day in the life...'
We host two days, over two weeks, where students get to experience a 'day in the life' of a student entering Secondary School for the first time. Students from our feeder school are provided with an LRCS polo (generously donated by the LRCS PCW Program) so they can feel like a member of the LRCS family for the day. This is suitable for students who are entering Secondary Education for the first time and are most likely to choose LRCS.
Secondary School is a little different to Primary School.
To help new secondary students and families understand some of the basic differences, three of our wonderful students have put together a video outlining a typical day in the life of a Year 7 & 8 student at LRCS. Check it out below!
Enrolment
Families who have chosen LRCS for their child's education and wish to enrol should organise an enrolment meeting with our Principal by contacting the Front Office.
